FASTEST ship in the game - BLU LIGHTNING
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5JYoeqNEd0

Made the fastest ship possible, enjoy the intro and watch thru the video to learn how to easily make such a build.

I don't think I missed anything when testing, but if you know a way to make even faster ship (not by using gravity of planets), then do tell ^.^

Hmm, its just a viper, I'm pretty sure there are faster, mamba especially if we are talking about straight lines

nope, not even close. Mamba can do maybe like 650 with boost. Trust me, i tested almost all ships (apart from heavy ones, such as type 9, type 10, anaconda..etc)

Nope, FD made some changes about a year or so ago which put the Viper ahead of the other speedsters. Still, the others can come close. Eagle, Imp Eagle, Courier, Adder.

Or, we could watch the Ghost Giraffe video, from just over a year ago, which no offense, makes a better job explaining how and why the setup works, while being more entertaining:

My Viper hits over 800M/s, and I've not even finished engineering it yet. Fully engineered and stripped down, a Viper can hit over 870M/s at boost.

The Mamba can't even get close to that, around 640M/s max.

Ghost Giraffe never gets old... Love his work!

can you use it for smuggling or anything viable besides the enjoyment of being too fast?

It does have a little cargo space (18T). So theoretically you could use it for smuggling.

It's exceptional at data delivery missions though :steamhappy:

And wake scans around a station (assuming that you can brake in time). :)

ah sure, cool regarding the data delivery missions.

TBH... Braking isn't the biggest problem, I don't think it's actually got enough power reserves to fit a wake scanner (certainly not A rated anyway) :steammocking:

Then my Eagle is better. It has the A-rated scanner, and still does around 900m/s boost (I have to turn the shields off when it's active, though). :)

Fastest possible build on coriolis only has 815M/s boost, and without overcharging the power plant doesn't have enough power to run the A rated scanner either...

Eagle: https://s.orbis.zone/7h07
My Viper (when completed): https://s.orbis.zone/7h0b

That's why I went with the Viper ;)

The Imp Eagle can go a little faster, about 905M/s, but it doesn't turn as sharply as the Viper. It also can't boost as frequently (10s vs 6s) and is noticeably slower when not boosting (making the Viper faster overall).

And it ends up with worse jump range than the Viper, as to achieve maximum speed you have to downsize the FSD (not a problem in the Viper as long as you stick to D rated)

Mine is the Imperial Eagle, yes. I don't remember the exact speed, but I do remember it being around 900m/s. Will check later. I only have its configuration in INARA:

imperial eagle 932m/s[coriolis.io] with A rated wake scanner. got the boost dumped tho
