Ideal Home System?
So, after a while of flying around, I've decided to look for a system that would be great to stick at for a while. I was wondering if anyone has a great star system in mind?

EDIT: If you want requirements, here they are: the system must have at least one planet, at least one starport, and have a broad range of available missions. I normally do civil war surface scan missions or sentry destruction missions.

I have at least 4 home systems, I do not have my note book handy right now, but will post them later, and why I call them home.

I have yet to find a system with the perfect rings for mining, the perfect passenger missions for huge credits, the perfect combat locations, and the best shipyard, etc...

So I have ships spread out that do a single job, and they are at the best station and system where I can get the most out of the ship and it's purpose.

My shipyard home and main storage home is at Jameson Memorial because I get everhything you can get from there with a 10% discount, and it is almost centrally located within the bubble, or at least in the midst of my home systems, andf engineers that I have been too.

My money making home is in the parutis system, my combat home is in HR 4734, and I have a home system for mining, etc...

It would be grand to have the perfect system, with the perfect system next door, but I don't know if there is a one stop for most anything system.

I am currently hanging around NLTT 53690. I really don't know why, because it's not the best system.

Well, the best home system is Shinratra Dezhra. Having access to every ship and module in one place makes life a bit easier.

If your goal is missions, I don't have a particular system, but I can help you find one. If you like scans and wartime missions, your best bet is to find an refinery economy, high Population that sits close to the convergance of Alliance, Imperial and Federal space. You'll have to really fly the border systems to find the perfect place to set up. You want the high population system to have some low population systems within striking distance (approx <10LY), ideally with as few planets as possible so scan missions and Skimmer kills consistently generate on one outpost.

Thanks. I'll have a look at Shinratra Dezhra and look around for more systems. Is there IF there or nearby?

Just keep in mind that you must have at least one Elite rank to be able to jump to it - it's the Founders' world and it's permit-locked.

I am one stop away from Shinrata, in 686 Centauri. That system has REZ for quick combat access, plus I like the sun there, and for a simple gamer like me, that is good enough ;) But I can drop into Shinrata to buy what I want when I want.

LHS 20 and Gende. I keep my ships at Ohm City in LHS 20 and usually fly over to Gende to do some work there since I don't really need fed reputation no more.

There is a list of private user groups (Wings) on the Inara site that are available to join. Most of these have a home system. This gives you a home base & other players, that over time, you'd recognise & can fly with. I myself fly for a private group & store my ships & modules in my home system. Funny.......... it feels like going home after a while. Fly safe Cmdr. o7

Maybe I'll just stick around LHS 3713 and NLTT 53690 for a while then...

https://youtu.be/hrMaBiMgP94 Might help/give you a decent start on finding a home system, for me mine is where the PMF that i'm with is based, however the best ones are probably and i hate to say it but those that you find yourself and then never tell anyone about. There is probably some good systems out there for mining, passenger, cargo, combat but are probably kept to a group of players who don't share.

Thanks for the video. It should help me out a bit :steamhappy:

I have found what I believe to be an excellent home system. It doesn't meet most of your criteria, but I like it.

I'm not telling you where it is. It's nice and quiet out there, and I don't need any more company. Every single system mentioned in this thread is now getting extra traffic because of this thread. I have enough trouble dealing with the half-dozen visitors a week the system usually gets.

Be aware that, if you're picking a "home system" because of system features like war combat zones or available mission types, that these things change with the BGS states. Even things like HazRes sites and Compromised Nav Beacons change on occasion, so don't assume that "the perfect system" will stay perfect forever. It won't.

Also don't assume that current max-credit-making options will remain in place. Right now, for example, many people are seeking "home bases" that are within 15 LY of a "remote" starport, such as Alpha Centauri or LTT 9360, because missions to such remote places are currently paying lots. But they'll eventually nerf this and/or make something else pay out more.

Usually hang around Gende. Its got a fairly decent selection of equipment at Baliunas Hub - until you unlock the founders system and can get everything.
Usually a civil war going on nearby with someone too.
Has a full selection of Rez sites, with at least one low, medium, high and hazardous each - the high rez is furthest away and is only 1020 ls away.

The fact its a high security Imperial dictatorship appeals to me as well :steamhappy:

I like Zeessze, its close to SOL.

You can do some quite good circular runs if you're doing pax missions around there. Nearby system Anlave is high tech and sells most modules.

Its Fed space though, if that bothers you.
