How Long Does It Take To Get To Beagle Point?
Hello, commanders. I'm about to do something totally ridiculous, I'm planning to go from Sol to Beagle Point in a single sitting. Did some calculation based on a 2kLY/hr distance, it would take me approximately 35 hours to get there. Obviousily not possible for me, would have died for a heart attack or something by than. So with my new 65 LY jump range anaconda, I am curious how long it will take me to get to Beagle Point via continous jumping. Fuel scoop and go, with the use of the highway. Thanks, in advance

Pff, that's hard to say. Someone made it to Sag A* in like 8 hours or so. So to BP I'd say it will take you not less than 24 hours straight jumping and scooping.

I don't think you can push it in much less time.

Ok, thank you. Going to make some additonal CR now before I do it. Might do it on the weekends.

People were buckyballing it without before engineering and before FSD boosts in about 12 hours.

Then we got engineering, and that dropped it down below 10 hours.

Jumpoinium reduced that further and neutrion star boosting means it can now be done in under 6 IIRC. Would need to check out the records on it.

Keep in mind that Beagle Point is not the farest system anymore, never had been...

What IS the furthest system, then? I always imagined it was Beagle Point.

That's easy for you to say!

That's correct, it was only the farthest system that someone went to in January 3301 and it was named after his ships name and the system was then decided to be the end goal of the first great expedition and thus the system became legendary for explorers. However it wasn't exactly the farthest system reachable, but one of the farthest.

I think the current record from Sol to Beagle Point is at around 6 hours. But a more realistic figure would probably be somewhere over 20 hours for the typical explorer. If you scan planets or stars on the way, then there is no upper limit on how long it can take. You can spend years going there if you keep getting sidetracked and scanning everything you come across.

Salome's Reach is a couple hundred lightyears past Beagle Point. You'll need a base jump range of 41.5ly and a bit of Premium FSD synthesis to get there. Here is the route:

MYEIA THAA RI-B D13-1 => MYEIA THAA QI-B D13-0 (58.70LY) MYEIA THAA QI-B D13-0 => MYEIA THAA UO-Z D13-0 (58.25LY) MYEIA THAA UO-Z D13-0 => CEECKAEA QK-C D14-0 (56.10LY) CEECKAEA QK-C D14-0 => OEVASY MA-A D0 (66.32LY) OEVASY MA-A D0 => OEVASY NA-A D0 (53.7LY) OEVASY NA-A D0 => OEVASY RG-Y D0 (82.68LY) OEVASY RG-Y D0 => OEVASY SG-Y D0 (50.07LY)

Its the one jump thats 82ly that'll stop most people. But as long as you've got premium jumpo (or whichever level of FSD Synthesis will get you that range or greater) its a walk in the park.

If you plan the to do it fast as possible, neutron highway is recommended.

With a big gulp Fuel scoop and a very cool running ship, your only delay while jumping is the FSD cooldown and spool up time.
TiberiuS May 10, 2018 @ 1:12pm
That's still 11000 ly per hour... that sounds about impossible.
That's 2 hours to Sag A*....

Not sure about that Bagle Point in 6 hours. Seems unreal.

Even in a 200 LY range ship boosted, 6 hours would be very tight considering you need to do the charging and repairs as well as every few jumps go via a scoopable to get more fuel.

Still, lots of crazy people out there, someone might have done it.
Jankules May 10, 2018 @ 11:49pm
If we get that broken guardian fsd booster fixed(released) maybe it will make that 6hours possible.
