Need a decent build for an Imperial Courier
Newer player here - I'm considering upgrading my current Viper Mk III bounty hunting ship with the Imperial Courier and could use a good build. I understand that Vulture is the premier BH ship but I'm still in the process of earning credits so I'm holding off on the Vulture until I'm a bit wealthier.

Also if anyone has a decent entry level mining build to help me earn some credits I'd appreciate that. I have an Adder I was using for surface mining with the SRV for mats so if anyone has a decent build that uses that ship that can earn me some decent credits I'd be extremely grateful.

For the courier: just replicate your Viper build, adjusting where needed.

Entry level mining: There's this, the earliest/smallest core mining ship you can build: https://s.orbis.zone/2zzr

Fun fact: the Adder and the Courier have very similar flight characteristics and internal slot layouts, so you could easily transfer the mining build over to the Courier and use the Adder for combat. :cozysmitedaji:

courier means one fast little ship
advance thrusters from felicity farseer and then engineer it to what you like.

i have one 800 plus boost not hard hitting yet but can be alittle annoying to catch me

The Courier is a lovely little combat ship. Enjoy!

I do the same with my imperial eagle. It will soon have 699ms top speed and 800something top boost

If you're looking to mine, I suggest you go either T6 or Keelback. Otherwise, the courier is a nice combat vessel. It can benefit hugely from engineering, but otherwise keep in mind that imp ships are fast, maneuverable, and extremely shield dependant which makes them quite power hungry.

here's[s.orbis.zone] a simple unengineered example I whipped up.

I keep hearing about how good the Courier is when it's engineered but since I'm new I'm not sure exactly where it should be upgraded. Any suggestions?

Get familiar with the ship first.
When you know what you need adjusted, look in the Engineers menu in the starboard side panel in your ship. It shows all the engineers that are known to your commander and their unlock requirements.

Imperial ships are fast. My big Cutter can do a boost of 506 which is a lot more then my Corvette, which can to a boost of 378.

ps: and I love the noise of the booster in my headphone of my cutter

Dirty enhanced thrusters with drag drives, of course, but also having a bunch of lightweight mods will help you keep that speed even on a full combat setup. You're looking at over 700 boost if you do it right. Realistically speaking, anything over 650 can outrun pretty much anything else you might encounter in a combat situation, and in the off chance of something being able to keep up with you, you can either outmaneuver it (mamba) or outgun it (ieagle).

Of course, engineering also opens the door to reinforced shields, resistance augmented boosters and even two beams on a hotter powerplant. Choice is yours.

Thanks. So far I've got 3 engineers unlocked so I might look into the these suggestions as soon as get a little extra scratch. With my Viper Mk III I think I just boosted the shields and the power plant. I was low on power so I boosted the output. I just figured out how to max an engineers improvement level the other day when I got my FDL range to rank 3. Been trying to earn both cash and rank in the Empire but the spot I'm t has good opportunities for rank but not much for cash unless you mine. I prefer trading and hauling with a little Bounty Hunting on the side to mix things up but I'll probably try some core mining since it seems to give the best cash per hour.

Those Felicity farseer thrusters, a Nice BiWeave shield and spam fixed cannons with a few points of long range engineering so the projectile speed is easy to hit. Should be a tough little nut to crack. Kill Spec Op's wings with that in conflict zones.
