Elite Dangerous

Elite Dangerous

hows this control in VR (Samsung odyssey +)
so I have been watching this game for a long time. somehow i never really noticed it plays in VR, and looks damn good. ]
but VR controllers are not known for lasting long. can this be played sitting + keyboard and mouse?
if not , hows it control on the wands? I have not really played much in VR and am hoping this will make the set worth it

The game does not really support VR controllers, only the HMD. The best way to play it in VR is with a HOTAS, followed by a game controller, and if you've got the skills, KB/M.

The game is really awesome in VR with a HOTAS setup.

So far I have played a few, and Project Cars 2, and Elite are the most immersive for sure. Some of the other VR games are a lot of fun though like Super Hot VR, Arizona Sunshine, and Half-life Alyx(which is also super immersive). As far as both VR+HOTAS you can get games like IL2, and Warthunder. I have yet to try them, but I hear good things. Any plane sim would be good.

DCS World is kind of the god-king of VR combat flight sims these days, but be prepared to pour money into it.

I use XBOX one gamepad. Requires to bind lot of multi-press combinations but doable. Probably not enough for competitive PvP but other than that it is good enough.

Hotas should be better but requires some fixed space (depends how your room-scale is set up, in my case it does not cover desk with computer so Hotas would be problematic).

Cheap and easy HOTAS that gets out of the way when you're done is the Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X
You'll have to get used to using your keyboard blind since there won't be enough buttons for all your functions, but it's a solid stick that will get you into HOTAS flight without a lot of headache.

Next grade up would be a T.16000M

Personally I use a CH Products HOTAS and some Saitek pedals in a cockpit I built out of a seat pulled out of a car.

not sure if this is normal and i have to get used to Keys as well, though I have zero Idea how thats going to work in VR
the last thing I want to do is try to use a keyboard while in vr
