The longer you fly before selling, the higher the profit.
IIRC there's a graphic showing the most profitable routes on reddit somewhere.
Remember that there's an allotment you can pick up, so you will only need so much cargo space.
You will be able to find more info and details if you find a guide to trading rares on the net.
cheers
Their resale price grows as you fly farther from the place of purchase. By flying at least 140 Ly away, you will get a very good price for them. Flying farther than that isn't really worth the very small increase.
They are just like every other rares, so you might want to trade other rares if you want to try that side of the business.
Of course, it's worth visiting Hutton Orbital at least once, for the "I did it" feeling. There are things that you should do at least once. :)
0.21LY certainly took its time to get there.
FOR THE MUG!
You can also get Centauri Mega Gin there, which is another rare commodity and you can get Indi Bourbon at Epsilon Indi (right next door to Alpha Centauri) so that's three rare commodities you can snag right there.
If you decide to give it a shot, then I recommend you go to Hutton first. Ideally, you make the run out to Hutton with an empty cargo hold so that you don't have to deal with pirates trying to interdict you along the way.
Once you stock up with mugs and gin, you jump to Epsilon Indi and go to the station orbiting the first planet (I forget the name now) for the bourbon. It's a short trip compared to the trek to Hutton, so pirates are unlikely to be a serious nuisance.
After that, it's up to you where you trade them. Dolphin already gave some good advice about it. If you have a ship with a good jump range though and you want to have an adventure delivering cargo, you can always try doing what this guy is doing in his review of the Type-6:

Hahaha... yeah, it's a mind-trip the first time you get there and you see the distance in Light YEARS instead of light seconds. For a moment you think you mis-jumped or something.
