The prices of minerals in the market are shown on this site. The problem is that these do not correspond to reality. For example, Serendibite on Parry Station on the site is reported at 784.038 while on the station it is sold at 422.704.
I ask you:
1) if the site is unreliable or am I wrong in something?
2) what other tools are there to know this data in real time? How do you do it?
Thanks

Prices change and sales prices also depend on how much of the stuff you're carrying (in relation to demand I guess).

The prices are updated occasionally, so they might just be outdated. You can see when they were last updated on the site as well.

Oh, and stations popping up near the top, especially near the FotM mining spots, will probably burn through their demand rather quickly too. So either deal with a saturated market, or find your own spots.

mmm ... it's not a matter of updating. I've been on this station checking the market for an hour and nothing has changed. On the site he says that the update was made 6 minutes ago, but in reality in all this time the difference has never changed. I think the site doesn't tell the truth about what's going on in the stations.

Always sort information on that site by most recent or you will be chasing ghosts.

It IS a matter of updating. The website relies on user submitted data to keep things up to date. There's an app called EDMC (Elite Dangerous Market Connector) that updates the info on sites like Inara, EDDB, and a few others... If nobody running EDMC has been to that system recently, the data won't have been updated recently.

You are partially correct. The site (assuming that its data is updated) tells you how much a station would but it for, if you didn't have any of it in your cargo hold. But the actual price is being adjusted, talking in account the current demand for that commodity, and how much you have in your cargo before you sell it. So, if the demand is not very high, and you brought a lot - the actual price will be much lower.

If you want to sell high - don't bring a lot of cargo.

Unless demand is very high...

Yep. As long as your supply will not make a serious dent on the station's demand, you will be fine.

OP if you want the listed value on the website, you'll need to find a station with x10 (or more) of the demand of your current cargo units. As other's mentioned, the station looks into your cargo and adjusts demand as if you have already sold your cargo, and not before.

Is it actually "10x or more", or are you just guessing? Genuine question btw, I'm not being a sarcastic ♥♥♥♥ for once lol.

I know it has to be a lot higher than the amount of cargo you're carrying, but I don't recall ever seeing any actual figures for how much more...

It is 10x or more. I can confirm that from my own experience. Quite frankly, with all that LTD mining we've all been doing lately, it's easy to come up with those numbers by ourselves, no guessing necessary :steammocking:

I've not done that much, I won't mine for less than 1.6mil per ton lol.

3 or 4 runs, maybe 5...

And I was delivering to stations with over 30k demand, so massively higher than 10x the 400 tons my T10 carries :steammocking:

well, you may not have ... but the EDSM traffic numbers say a lot about what everyone else has been doing :steammocking:

Anyway, i sell in Open by principle,. so often i have to find safer, or closer, selling points, often with lower demands. In fact my 96T mining Phantom is custom built for that sort of thing (shorter, quicker runs). Nevertheless, i've found myself on both sides of the edge of that 10% treshold often enough to be able to tell with confidence, that's where the treshold is.

Really very clear. Thank you all
