unexplored filter?

i swear ive seen a video of a filter that highlights unexplored systems, and yet i cant find the darn thing. am i dumb or is my game broken?
(ive checked in the map filters, unless its in a really obscure sub menu i cant find it)

You will not know if a system has been explored (visited) until you go there yourself. there is no filter.

Maybe this is what you mean: it is in the map filters, but it doesn't filter unexplored systems, what it does is filter systems by whether you personally have visited them:

Its under the 'visited stars' Cartographics tab.
It won't tell you if a system is completely unexplored - but it'll tell you if you personally have been there before o7

Below 'Star Class' in filters is 'Visited Stars', click on 'Not visited' and click on 'Apply filter' and click off 'Visited'. Hope that was what you needed Cmdr. o7
