Can't find how to scoop up cargo

Amazing, so many guides and so much information, be it in the game or oustide, and I still can't figure out how I'm supposed to scoop up cargo that I found from going to the signals, or even the specific cargo that I need to collect for missions. I don't think I'm the brightest out there but how is it that I just cannot find anywhere how to do that ?

Target the canister, open your cargo scoop and then fly towards the canister, keeping it centred in the scooping display which comes up when you do this.

Open a cargo scoop. Target what you want to scoop. Point your ship's nose at it. Look at your scoop radar at the bottom left of your HUD. Position the blip to the middle of the radar square. Approach in such a way that your scooping speed in relation to the object will be below 40m/s at the moment of contact.

Or install a limpet controller and use limpets to scoop.

They are little drones that can do several different things, depending on what kind of controllers you will install. They can scoop things, can fix a ship's hull, can refuel another ship... Don't worry, you will find out! :)

In cockpit press 4 - select/click "CODEX" -> pilots handbook.

Also, on the launcher is a link to the ED manual.

As a side note Limpets can also collect Signal SOurce stuff out there too mnake the job so much quicker ! You lose them but hey ... in this game it seems that time is credits.

whats the BUTTON for the CARGO SCOOP?! i know you need to get close and scoop into ship but HOW! i literally see the canister out of my cockpit so how do i pick it up?!

Right panel look in the ship Tab " in game"

The little cargo scoop window on the left side ... the one you center the cargo pod to pick it up and not run into it ... if the bars are Red your moving too fast. The bars must be that greenish blue color.

You will not be able to engage your jump drive if your cargo scoop is still out / active.

In the old days of elite when you used the cargo scoop your shields would drop

Then alot of miners and other players, complained so they left your shields on all the time.

I wish we could have a choice in our options menu to enable to disable these things.

I forget the original key bind, but you can change it to whatever you like in Options/Controls/Ship Controls/Miscellaneous...Expand that key bind and make sure it is on 'Toggle' or you will have to hold the key the whole time...I have my on the 'Home' key...That may be the default...I forget...Make it whatever you like without dislodging an existing key bind...

And to keep it centered in the scooping display fly slow and use the lateral and vertical thrusters to adjust aim instead of pitch and yaw.

But i guess that OP doesn't know about those thrusters either ;-)

It's the "Home" key (had to watch some videos to discover this, lol)
