Change cockpit mode

No matter what i am doing, the game keep telling me to change cockpit mode. how to get rid of that message?

Not the point, the game keep telling me that even if i am actually in combat mode and i use a weapon.

Check your fire groups. You probably have both a weapon and scanning device assigned.

The likely problem is that you have made a mistake with your fire groups.

You may have your weapons and a scanner mapped to the same fire group and as a result your asking your ship to fire and scan at the same time. Press 4 the navigate to fire groups and investigate.

M is default for switching between combat and scan mode is all I know

Is it bad? i do it all the time on purpose, mix weapons and scanners into the same fire groups because it saves time switching pages. You know the 1,2,3,4 etc at the top of group assignments page. So i can have everything on the same page and not need to scroll up or down but just press m.

Can't be, this is just a warning which can be annoying at times. I do it the same as you do, I even have weapons, scans and interdictor on the same fire group, since interdictor can only be used in supercruise.
