How do I analyse?
The title. When I press mouse 1 while in Analysis mode it says that I have the wrong cockpit mode.

Maybe your problem is that you have to put hardpoints out in order to use that scanner.
I have but it doesn't work. I also checked that I need to use M2 so that is solved but it still doesn't scan... :(

Pretty sure that the Data Scan needs to be in Combat mode in order to work.

you have to change your cockpit mode then to analysis mode. Standard key should be R-CTRL

There's a long distance scanner thing they added. I rebound mine to the ~ key.

I was trying to analyze a megaship as a mission told me so to locate some part of it. Another time I tried to analyse a probe which would tell me location of some illegal weapons.

IIRC you have to use Data Link scanner. You must have it assigned to fire group (and select that group, of course). Get close enough, then target and use it.
