A rebuy would be required because doing this is pointless, the jumps and drops from supercruise act as the loading screens, without them, nothing renders properly. Without the jump there, the system won't be loaded into your instance. You'd be greeted by a blanket of black, and that's assuming you could even get there..
A person flew from a moon to a landable planet without supercruise, it took him nearly 6-7 hours to travel that small distance, and while the planet itself was still physically there, nothing on the surface rendered in because his instance was still focused on the moon.
Even if there was some stutter on switching from one (coordinate) system to another. You wouldn't probably even notice it all that much as you are FAR away from any stellar body.
They've never let that system be unlocked as it was a major stepping stone in previous games to finding the thargoid homeworld.

I've never used an FSD before. I've only been playing 4 months but you seem like a very serious cat who is clearly very very very very very knowledgeable and did I mention serious? Can't remember if I did. Would you be able to tell me how to use it? It would help me so much. I've spent 4 months stuck never able to get to stations regardless of how many tinned vegetables I throw out the back of my cargo hatch.
The boom jump noise covers creating a new instance and registering it with the server.
If they hid the boom jump noise and showed a black screen for 10-20 seconds while everything is set up, how is that any different to what we have now?
