Graphical artifacts or glitches on stars.
I've been playing ED without any issue till about 3 days ago, then suddenly I started getting weird artifacts on stars and also on the ship engines exhaust.
Moreover characters' faces are invisible, but I can see their clothes and the bulbs of their eyes, quite creepy! ;-)

I've noticed this doesn't happen in 32bit version of ED, but I've always being playing with the 64bit version and wasn't encountering any issue...does anyone know how to fix this?
I've already deleted NVIDIA cache folders content and verified again the game data integrity via Steam.

This is what happens:

Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

renew all driver and verify the files.
That is crazy looking for sure.
Try to verify files by going to the launcher and clicking on options and then verify.

Why you guys are saying things I've already done?
My drivers are the same as before and they worked flawlessly (and they're updated), and as I said already I've already verified the files.

Update your graphic driver

I love how people totally ignore what I say and write just to type on keyboard...
I'm saying this again: my drivers are updated and anyway they worked before, I've verified the game files both from Steam and inside the launcher, I've also deleted the NVIDIA cache files.

what are your specs, something might have changed with the system that might be causing it to freak out.

Tried rolling back the graphics drivers? known a few people with win10 have to roll back due to it deciding drivers were outdated and updating them to versions with issues in Elite. Latest driver is not always stable.

The driver is from february and it's the same I was using before.

I've temporarly solved using a very old driver from 2016, thing is I didn't update or change drivers lately and my windows updates are off, it has always been the same.
Probably doing a clean install of the driver (even if old) fixed something.

are you on a laptop?
gabriele83 Jun 21, 2017 @ 5:24am
Yes. But please don't start ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about how a laptop isn't suitable for games, I've always played with this one.
