Made a passenger mission to VY CANIS MAJORIS and finally have arrived...only thing is, I can't find the tourist beacon....
Any help would be most appreciated!

If you don't have an advanced discovery scanner (very advisable to have it on your passengers ship), then drop at a Nav. Beacon near from the main star and scan it. It should reveal all points of interest in this star system.
Get close to the planet and then look in the left side pannel for it.

yeah.... since the sun itself is bigger than 500 ls or even 1000 ls the regular disco scanners are useless.

Every scanner is useless for this. Beacons will show up in a range of 1000ls (not sure how far exactly). Might take a while to search the whole space near the sun

oh yeah.... its not actually orbiting anything you'd be able to scan and lock onto.

as @Turd Ferguson mentioned, tourist beacons only have a detection range of 1000ls. That means you have to be closer than that for it to show on your side panel. This works for all tourist beacons, so if you can't find one, try getting closer to any celestial body that is on the system.

Hello, I'm in the same case as you. Unfortunately, I don't succeed in finding the station. I 've followed the instructions, I'm exactly at 7020ls from the main star and 13157ls from the other but I'm alone. An idea or I go back home (long way ;-)) Thanks

I wrote that guide back in November last year. The beacon is fixed in space relative to the primary star and does not orbit, but the secondary star does orbit, so the distance between the beacon and secondary star changes slowly over time. If you scroll down the thread, you'll see someone posted the distance to the secondary star was 12875 LS away from the beacon, two weeks ago.

The method I outlined, of jumping out to a specific star, then jumping back in and aiming for another star, ought to still work.

I'm still disappointed that FD have not yet found a better solution to the Gargantuan problem.

Thanks for your answer. I've tried to follow your guide but when I come back to vy canis majoris I am at 11941ls from the main star. So pointing the direction of col 132 sector dq-x d1-46 make me going far away from the main star. The trajectory is not tangential enough to reach 7020ls. I've tried the both directions without result. I'm still alone. I didn't see any ship to show me the path. I'm disappointed too.

Long story short, things have changed a bit now.

Found the beacon by orbiting VY Canis Majoris at 7020ls, and keeping in mind that it's almost in-line with Col 132 Sector DQ-X D1-46.

I'm parked ~200km away from the beacon in normal space, which is technically right next to it in this scale.

Here you can see: 7020ls / 12828ls as of Dec 9th, 2017

Wasn't easy for me, but would never have found it without Sapyx's guide last year
Hope these relatively static points help anyone in the future
