oh yeah.... its not actually orbiting anything you'd be able to scan and lock onto.
The method I outlined, of jumping out to a specific star, then jumping back in and aiming for another star, ought to still work.
I'm still disappointed that FD have not yet found a better solution to the Gargantuan problem.
Found the beacon by orbiting VY Canis Majoris at 7020ls, and keeping in mind that it's almost in-line with Col 132 Sector DQ-X D1-46.
I'm parked ~200km away from the beacon in normal space, which is technically right next to it in this scale.
