Praseodymium mining
I have no idea where to look, could anyone tell me where to find praseodymium? Do I need to go into a random RES and hope to get lucky?
thanks,

The best place is a pristine ring. Use this tool to find the nearest to you. http://edtools.ddns.net/ You will also find most of the precious metals here, Painite, Platinum, Palladium etc

You can mine it out of metallic or metal rich asteroids. Best is obviously pristine reserves, but if you cannot find one, major reserves are also okay.

FYI, don't mine in a Res site, stay at least 20km away from any Res POI. They spawn pirates and you'll never be able to mine in peace.

When you drop into a ring, do one of two things. There will likely be an NPC pirate that'll drop in to scan you so make sure your cargo racks are empty (limpets are fine, pirates don't count them as booty to steal).

You can either allow the pirate to scan you prior to you starting to mine, after seeing you have nothing to steal wait for him to wake away from the ring, or boost away from the radar contact.

Once you have no ship contacts on your radar, it is highly unlikely that any other ships will appear and you can mine without being interupted.

Look for pristine metallic rings and mine anywhere away from people. Preseodymium is common so it won't take long to find.

You could, but then seven of his mates turn up, one after the other, all wanting your 'big haul'.

You'd turn a tidy profit in bounties, but I reckon your main aim of mining praseodymium would likely take a back seat.

I think you can get it surface mining too...but it's VERY rare.

I think by mate you mean other pirates who doesn't actually know each other, and just trickles in one after another, in which case I probably take them all out. Well as long as there isn't anything bigger than vulture.
