Landing pad sizes for transport missions
I've been running transport missions in a Keelback and more recently an Asp.
When I look at the descriptions for cargo missions, some destinations say they're outposts and some don't say at all.
If it doesn't say, does that mean it's a full size station with large landing pads?
Related to that, is there a limit on the number of large pads at stations. Once in a while when I try to land at an outpost I get denied for a long time since there's normally only 1 pad that can take medium ships.
I play solo or private so it's NPC's not other players blocking the medium pads.
Also somewhat related, can large ships land at all ground bases?

And finally, I've seen plenty of videos of players having trouble getting a type 7 through the mail slot. Will it fit through if you turn sideways so you've got lots of vertical space and less width clearance?

Yeah, i think the outpost warning is just there for people in big ships.

There is a limit to the number of large pads (and medium and small) at all stations. You are correct in that outposts have only 1 medium pad.

You can either switch mode to reset the instance and get the pad, or just request docking and wait a minute or so for the pad to become free.

Large ships can land at all ground bases.

I have no idea how people have a hard time getting a type 7 through the slot. Just fly normally. Keep in mind the type 7 cockpit is at the bottom of the ship so you want to go through low.

I guess the limit on pads doesn't present itself much in solo since I've never been denied docking at a large station.
When I have a lot of trouble getting the pad at an outpost I just to into supercruise and re approach. This will usually get me docking permission.

I totally get why the Type 7 is a problem. You spend most of your time aiming for the center or top of the slot and when your fly that one with so much height over the cockpit it's hard to get used to aimind for the bottom of the slot.

1: Not sure. If it doesn't say outpost I would assume it's a large station. This isn't really an issue though. When playing a small or medium ship you can accept any mission and you will be able to land at the destination. When playing a large ship, you are blocked from accepting missions to deliver to outposts. The mission will be at the bottom of the list with "SHIP TOO LARGE" in red text.

2: Nine large pads on full-size stations. Six on asteroid bases. One on rescue ships. As for outposts, if there's a bot on the only medium pad you can log out and back in again to get rid of the bot. If you wait for them to take off, they tend to get stuck on the station next to the pad... so you still can't get landing clearance.

3: All ground bases have large pads.

4: With the type 7, just hug the bottom edge of the slot.

When that happens, I just go and nudge them a bit with my ship.
That tends to wake them up enough to fly off. :cozysmitedaji:

you can force launch by waiting till its inside , turned around, and waiting.. Then request again at this point and it will take off.

Yes just fly slowly and push them off the landing pad.
