Do you guys play crew lounge roulette?

I don't lose crew members too often, but when I do, I want them not to look like some monster broke out of gene lab or unlucky plastic surgery victim. I also like them to have appropriate voice and no brit accent. So whenever crew NPC dies, sometimes it takes me to sit there for beaten hour, spinning that 15k CR roulette and hoping I'd get someone I'd not be totally scared to look at. What a drag...

Do you guys just pick whoever you find first, you try to find someone you like too?

I guess that's impossible, but still gonna ask: is there a way to somehow check NPC voice queues without having him launch in SLF out of station?

I don't think there's a way to check their voice first. Looks and voice aren't as important to me as their back story. Usually, a cruise ship pilot looking for a change of pace is like housebreaking a grown dog. Ex fighter pilots usually train easier. I'll take them out to the local RES to see if they can handle themselves and follow orders. That's more important to me than what they look like or how they sound.

But I need to have a good looking crew. I don't want any Quagaar/Thargoid hybrids in my fighter ships.

ya man, why Frontier can't make pretty or handsome AI crew is beyond me. Maybe it's the transgender trend.

Yeah, it's painful, I've easily spent wayy in excess of 1.2 mil looking for the perfect HARMLESS NPC pilot once, good backstory and doesn't look like a krokodil addict. hes expert now though.

Also their background story is very important for me. Not everyone get the chance to join my journey.
My buddy got a quiet and smooth voice.
I wish he would make some jokes from time to time.
