The Mug (Advice?)
Welp, I made the mistake of flying all the way out to Hutton Orbital, not realizing the distance. Turns out there's a myth about a free Anaconda, but that's not true. But there is some kind of, stupidly OP rare item? People say it can be sold for $$$$$
Any suggestions on where to sell it? I'm Not going to fly across all of space, unless the value really is crazy high,, but what can I expect? I haven't charted far outside the bubble. I think I was unlucky, but I never found places to sell to.

Fly like, 160LY away, you'll get some decent cash for them.

That'd put me at the very edge of the bubble. That could work.
What if I went really far south? Wasn't there a lot of thargoid territory bellow the bubble, with one station full of people? I think that's where people used to get thargoid drops. Think it'd be better to go there?

Maia, found it.
~400 LY. Here comes the money!

ok now i know that hutton orbital is a joke but does it actually have a purpose? i mean 1.5 hours of afk supercruise and the most painstaking planitary landing in history could be ok if i would be rewarded with several hundred million credits

im guessing its just another generic rare resource that can make you a couple million if your lucky and are willing to jump a few hundred ly to sell right?

You won´t get rich by selling Hutton-mugs. XD

But Hutton Orbital and the mugs are, let´s say, legendary.
Be it the free Anaconda, be it the fact, that the mugs as trade item were generated by the community, be it the long distance from the system entry to Hutton Orbital.

Besides: Better not try exploring if the tour to Hutton Orbital "takes too long" for you. ;)

mugs are mugs, if you fly to Hutton, you are a mug

1. No free anaconda.
It seems to be a "coming of age" sort of event. Pilots know of it, and the prize isn't great, but until you've done it you're not a Real pilot. I got up to ~2,000c. I just put on a show and flew the distance. No big deal.
Kinda wish it was a cosmetic though, so I could put it on my hud.

It was during this trip that I realized what paint damage does though! Oh BOY! I took 90% damage to my paint. I look all, scratched up and grey around the edged.

wait now i need to fly stupidly fast to see what 0% paint looks like... hutton here i come. lol flying my corvette there will be expensive for the integrity

I reckon b/c Hutton Orbital is so close to the border of Luhman 16 system, you can SC faster from Hamilton Plant than jumping into Alpha Centauri.

I didn't go there for the 'free anaconda,' I went for a mission to level up my federation rank.
The mug station caught my eye, and I knew it was an unusual location I'd stumbled across.

If someone would told me to go there for a mission, they would get middle finger from me, and I'd go to another nearest station, to get MUCH more realistic mission for rank-up.

Seriously, knowing when to tell NPCs to ♥♥♥♥ off in this game is vital.
