dose the eddb always have wrong prices?
went to two stations to sell my low temp. diamonds and both had the wrong prices they were to be 1,000,000 and 900,000 but the prices were 600,000. Made me wonder if I even wanted to travel any further for less money.

Double check the "last update" stat. The longer it is, the more chance it's not accurate.

use inara.

Use either, doesn't matter as they both pull their info from the same database. Just different web design.

except my ed market connector is set up to update inara only, as is with a lot of people i play with.

Have you specifically prevented the market connector from sending data to the Elite Dangerous Data Network?

i did not realize that it updated everything. I thought it only did the ones you logged into, set up.

Update to inara means it sends the info about your commander to inara, your credits, engineering stuff, ship info, etc.
Both sites pull their outfitting stock and commodity prices from EDDN.

I use the commodity filters in the galaxy map if I need up to date prices on stuff in areas I've been to before.

Only oddities like void opals and such prompt me to use EDDB.

For the most part I have used the EDDB and found it to be spot on, now I see that stations I visited were not updated on the database (that's a first for me). It wasn't a total loss I got 30 million instead of 50. I like where I'm located and not into making 20 jumps half way across the quadrant just to sell at the highest price. I'll just drop in on my main selling station from time to time (about once a week) to see if market has returned and when it dose...it will be a good time to go mining. thanks everyone

I never said it was hard to use. it's just not 100% reliable.

Do you have the market connector plugin installed?

As has been said the more time gap between the last known update and the current date the more inaccurate the data will be.

Inara and EDDB as well as any other DB are 3rd party tools which are not real time.

If these are even automatically updated then that happens once the BGS ticks, otherwise it relies on players using EDMC tool to update ware list upon docking onto a station.

As has been noted, see how old is the info on the price and decide for yourself. For me personally, selling minerals, the prices are very often spot-on, only rarely outdated and that's likely due to server tick that updated locations.
