2: There is no pad big enough for your ship. Outposts in particular. This is really only a problem when flying a large ship.
Dude, these places have like 5 parking bays - MAX. You really need the game to tell you that they're occupied? You truly can't tell by yourself, just by looking at them?
If you drive IRL, I'd hate to live anywhere near you.....
Whats with the pointless aggressiveness against an obviously new player? Chill down man.
And even finding your own parking space with that light show can be a pain at an outpost, let alone not marked ones.
Flying to the pad ant targeting the NPC seems to move them along and then I'm right there and can dock.
I am using the newbie ship still (so probably the smallest) and i dont think i ever come across parking slot mechanic in any other space game. i dont believe its a bad thing changing the "access denied" message to "you cant park because there is no space". by the way whats the point of having npc ships blocking the parking slots. are they actually transporting goods around?
I fully agree that a different message would be much better. As to what's the point: Elite Dangerous is much more of a simulation than pretty much any other space game. Since you see NPC ships entering and leaving stations as part of that simulation it's only natural that these ships are also docked somewhere while they are at the station.
I'm not sure if the simulation goes so far as to transporting goods around, but considering there is a market supply and demand simulation in the game which i'm pretty sure changes even without player involvement, i wouldn't be surprised if they actually were transporting stuff around.
You can't move anymore. The options are blowing up your ship or calling the Fuel Rats. The Fuel Rats are a group of players who will come and transfer some fuel to you, no matter where you are in the galaxy and from what i heard they are pretty fast too, even if you are thousands of light years away from any inhabited system.
