Notable System Permits
So you can earn permits for locked systems through gaining various ranks in the game. Any worth mentioning?

None speak out to me as being noteworthy... perhaps Sol?

Sol is of course nice because it's like "oh wow home" sort of thing but is there anything special about Sol system ingame? Like notable outfitting areas? Certain engineers or technology brokers? Rare materials or minerals? Cool anomalies? Discounts?

my bad i have been under a rock the last week lol
Alioth. 20% discounts for the Orca or the Asp Explorer at Irkutsk station. And you will need it later for an engineer, too.

Shinrarta Dezhra for Jameson Memorial
Sol because it's humanity's birthright
Sirius for Qwent but also because it's a really cool system, having a neutron and a white-blue (class B ?) as well as 3 or 4 earthlike/water/ammonia worlds.

Ticks me off that fleet carriers aren't gonna be able to enter a permit locked system (what FDevs said), cuz Sirius would become my Fleet Carrier FOB.

Oh really? Didn't know that about fleet carriers. I've heard people have found hundreds of obscure systems on the edges or in sparse voids which are permit locked with no idea how to acquire a permit which I thought was interesting.

Yeah I've heard of Shinart Dezhra from friends where you have to rank elite in something for it to unlock. I'll probably get mine through trade. I don't do much combat, of my 6 ships only 1 of them is a dedicated warship outfitted for combat and exploration is something I've merely acquired passively although I have been mapping systems around Sol, not caring for specific worlds or stars but just to practice the activities for later projects.

Combat would take the longest amount of time to get elite anyways due to the way it's set up.
Exploration is only 124 million credits from data sold.
Trading is 1.05 billion from any trade. Easiest way is to set up a Krait or Python for mining (about 128 tons optimal) and just run ten trips. Got to Elite hella quick.

As far as the permit locked sectors around the void, FDevs have already acknowledged that and the space is "reserved" for future content (will be unlocked when said content drops).

Sol has all the familiar planets of the Solar system, plus a few dwarf planets / KBOs. There's a lot of lore-containing tourist beacons. The three "ancient probes" (Voyager 1, Voyager 2 and New Horizons). And that's about it.

In terms of unique services, there is a high-level Engineer based there. Oh, and there's also a 10% discount on Eagles from the space station orbiting the Moon. Eagles? Yeah, I know.

Apart from that, there's the scenery of Earth itself, plus the Moon (which isn't landable). There's also Mars, which has been terraformed but still retains it's heightmap of IRL "Old Martian" features like Olympus Mons, Valles Marineris, etc.

Do you mind me asking where you got these figures from? Not saying you're wrong or it hasn't been tested by others etc but 1.05 billion from trade? I've made 95% of my money from trade and have close to 0.9bn in assets, still have money and have also spent about 50 million of money (earned through trade) on donations this last week alone. I'm pretty sure I've either exceeded 1.05bn or I'm very nearly there but I'm still several trade ranks away from Elite and aren't they exponential too?

Ah yes I had forgotten about the voyager probes, had wondered if they may be included and saw that they were on the wikia a few weeks ago which is very cool.

Isinor: Only system from the 1984 game that has a permit.
4 Sextantis: No one know how to get the permit, but it is not listed as unobtainable. (there are a few more like this also)
