Thermic materials?
Hi,

I am looking for - Heat Resistant Ceramics, there is 'info' on how to find them here - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/439257-Need-help-heat-resistant-ceramics however so far I have had 0 luck.

They don't seem to drop from ships, and I cannot find them in Anarchies.

To be honest aside from Tempered Alloys Im not finding any of the Thermic materials, which is just odd.

Has this bugged out on me, or can someone jive some more guidance?

Thanks.

Have you tried following the advice in post number 2 of that thread?

Hi yep that's whats odd. Anacondas arn't dropping 'em - though to be honest I have only managed to bag 3 so far (not a great fighter pilot). As for the USS's I havent found any High Grades in either war or Anarchy systems. One of the posts says that you need to run around at 10c, but this appears to produce nothing at all - and my ship is a pig to keep at that speed.

Is there a way to set a shipt to an exact speed? Having to do it manually right now.

Hmm, for the high grade emissions USSs, you should have more luck in high pop systems. What you want to do is fly a good distance from the main star (I usually keep going until all the system's orbit lines are a good way behind me) then fly back and usually (in my experience) that's when they will start to pop up. Avoid the shipping lanes as they'll likely produce more convoy dispersal/distress call/combat aftermath USS. Material gathering in this way is, unfortunately, quite hit and miss; I have found it can take up to an hour for the right USS type to appear, so try to be patient.

As far as speed, sticking to a fairly low speed might give the USSs more time to spawn in, but I'm not sure if it actually does. You can bind throttle increments to keys in options/controls/flight throttle, I would suggest to bind 25% to a key and 50% and 75% might come in handy for other situations.

It might be easier to look for a higher grade material and trade down at a material trader. You can find your nearest manufactured trader by going to https://eddb.io/station under the "has facilities" drop down choose material trader, then choose Industrial under the Economy drop down and set your reference system as your current location. Setting the right economy type is important on eddb, or it can send you to the wrong type of trader. You can also use https://inara.cz/galaxy-nearest/25/ if you prefer.

Hi,
Many thanks for the suggestions. Tried a high pop (8 billion plus) Dictatorship and got 2 High grades after 20 mins... what fool at Fd said 'Random number generated grind: what a good idea'?

Annoyingly all they had was Proto Heat radiators, so it looks like I need a high pop Anarchy.

Did you scoop up the proto heat radiators? If so, they are grade 5 mats, so you should be able to trade them for about three times as many of the mats you were looking for.
