LHS 3447 Planetary scan job... Help
There's no nav beacon to scan, and I've been to both landable planets, scanning them and flying around them... Got nothing. Been stuck on this for two days so now I'm just sitting in front of the star. I don't want to cancel it because I just got my influence leveled up.

there's a nav beacon in lhs 3447, and i count 17 landable planets
i'm guessing your job will be somewhere at about 92000ls range from the main star

There's two stars in the system, lhs 3447 has two landable planets with no nav beacon. The main Star you jump to has a nav beacon with a bunch of planets to land on, but it's not named lhs 3447 it's something else. Anyway I scanned that beacon and it gave me nothing. Left system, came back and repeated everything and still nothing
mate, i don't do PS missions but most missions give a planet name, just go there and when you are within 1000ls the target name will show in your nav panel

Look at your nav panel (the one on your left side) and you should see the Nav Beacon displayed there. Lock it, fly to it and scan it.
he prolly has EA, but the binary has him a little confused as the main star is called gliese
the System is still lhs 3447 so he is in the right place
the scan job will be quite far out on one of the moons i would guess so he will need to get closer to it first

@OP Actually let's get something straight over here. Do you own Horizons? Without it you cannot land on planets and as such you can't do missions on their surfaces.

The star doesn't have a nav beacon. I even looked it up and the guys on the frontier forums and the people there confirmed it doesn't have one. Mission also says to just fly to the system and doesn't give a planet name, and I'm using Horizons. I'll just take some screenshots later
I'll actually just cancel this mission, it's not worth the trouble. Over 100 hours and I've never had this happen before, I'll just avoid anything going into this system from now on. Thanks for the advice you two
do you have an advanced discovery scanner and have you "honked" the whole system?
you said you went to "both" landable planets in the system, but i can tell you there is actually 17 of them

The procedures for planetary scan missions is (usually) the following:

1. Accept the mission and fly to the target system
2. Upon arriving in the system, you get either a mission update that tells you which planetary body to scan, or you update the mission by scanning the sytem nav beacon, or update the mission by using an advanced discovery scanner (which accesses th nav beacon)
3. You then fly to the target planet for the mission (you can also check this under your mission transaction infos)
4. When you are close to the planet you will get a POI marker under the system overview, which you can select
5. You then do a planetary approach with the POI selected, it will refine the coordinates severall time until you get to the exact position
6. You then land near the planetary settlement and use your SRV to scan the data pylon, which is located in the settlment
7. Complete the mission
