Playlist
What is the function does the Ship playlist serve if I can't put the music I own on it? seriously...when i;m grinding rank or Mining opals i'd love to hear some Tupac or Led Zeppelin without using a seperate program...

That's a good question. For now it only works with in-game content, like GalNet news or audio logs. Kind of useless, as I just play the GalNet from its play button. And I only listen to those audio logs once, just as I find them.

It's especially a shame considering websites like Sidewinder radio exist, and would be fantastic to feature in game similar to the Fallout series.

Only use I found for it so far was throwing in codex articles for things I couldnt be botherd to look up.

For music your best option is to still leave youtube open and play in borderless fullscreen for fast alt-tabbing.

One thing I know will never happen but I wish would. Is using that ingame player to play MP3's and the HUD react to the music like an equalizer on beats

It would be great if, like the HUD display, fd gave you an over riding option for the playlist, allowing you to drag and drop files into it before loading the game; the files would then appear in the in game playlist, like the colour changes to the HUD do.

....aaand now they're stopping the in-game story updates altogether. So I guess this feature is officially useless.

Something i've always wanted is an in game browser, similar to table top simulator with their tablets. It would be so useful for those of us without two monitors who just want to watch a youtube video while we fly.

Why even use a second monitor? Just have the browser open in a ship screen. Just whack youtube up on the Comms panel or something similar.

I see your "no two monitors" and I raise you a "playing in VR!" It would be so amazing if we could have one extra screen that we can just slap whatever function on that we want, be it a browser, Winamp (yes I'm old.), youtube or yet another game altogether (space invaders comes to mind :D (did I mention: I'm OLD!)) that we can play during the long travel moments.
