I think something like this would be more user and lore friendly. While also not breaking immersion :)
The way it is is a massive barrier to enjoying the game with friends, and traveling isnt the only type of gameplay. This lets you cicumvent that requirement to enjoy other gameplay. But people that like to travel still could and just ignore it :)
PS Maybe some limitations, like some station options are greyed out if your controling remotly. No buying new ships remotely, no upgrading remotely, stuff like that. Reasons you do have to be there in person.
But for just grabbing the ship and going to do some combat with a friend, or run a trade mission its avalible :)
Maybe lol
I know that, because i play this not X haha
Seroiously though iv never touched an X game, appart from many many years ago and i didnt like it. This idea is born from an elite player spotting a problem, not bringing features over from other games ;)
Multicrew has worked flawlessly for me every time I've used it... I've always been the host, and I've always had my ports forwarded and upnp disabled... Manual network config may be a bit time consuming occasionally, but it works.
Same.
