Best way to increase federation rank?

I've been looking for an answer to this question but not everyone agrees on one answer

Find a federation-controlled system in federation space to use as your "home", then keep doing missions for a federation-aligned faction between that and other surrounding systems for reputation rewards. Make sure to pick up rank missions as they become available.

Cetus/Sothis data delivery missions between the first 3 stations of each system (remaining stations stay too far away adding unpractical travel times)

Edit.: there is a chance the BGS reset messed that up, but it's very likely it didn't affect these stations and systems.

Find a damaged federation station and do rescue missions. You'll need to log out to get the missions to reset but you should be able to grind ranks pretty quick. Damaged stations have a red icon next to them on the galaxy map. Bring a ship with lots of economy passenger cabins.

I unlocked sol an then grinded missions there to get my corvette. But mostly i donated a lot on money for fast ranking think it proally costed me round 300 or 400 mil in the end

Because there isn't one.

Search criteria is:
1. 2 systems ideally close to one another only. i.e. delivery missions always go to the other station
2. Boom systems (maybe investment works too) for more missions.
3. Federation space or Imperial space, depending on your needs.

I did my ranking in Sothis/Ceos, with a T9.
Mainani <-> Ngallin is a staple for Empire.

Once you are doing damaged station rescue, does picking REPUTATION matter to fed ranks once you've reached max reputation with the local faction?

Yes, it does.

No, it does not. Don't confuse the reputation and the rank. The reputation doesn't directly influence the Superpower rank.
