Co-op Any Fun?

Wanting to playing a space game with a friend, was wondering if co-op would be fun?

My girlfriend and her best friend play co op, she jumps into his ship sometimes. We have teamed up in a wing a few times. It can be fun but I have read about some issues in certain situations. (I don't remember what they were, sorry)

I find coop one of the best aspects of online games in general and in ED it can be good fun. Fair word of warning though, missions do not reward coop unless they are wing missions. Wing missions tend to be tough or long (really advise against taking wing mining missions). The wing assassination missions are good, but not for new players.

Otherwise you can go exploring, mining, trading, fighting together and both reap rewards.

Yep :D It's a lot of fun when I played while ago, as long as both of you are about as powerful. I played in a wing before where my ship could as well not be there and I felt so useless.
I did multi-crew long time ago as well but it was constant disconnects, IDK how it is now.

There are only really the wing missions you can do as co-op in this game but they are:

a) usually not worth doing in terms of time vs reward
b) half the time the game will put you and your friend in a different instance (same place but you are both in different versions of it)

So simply put: you can play co-op (wing missions) but 99% of the game is still very much a solo experience where you are both off doing your own thing. Don't even bother with multicrew; its a bug masquerading as a feature.

this game isn't fortnite/pubg/csgo in space.

this isnt the game for you. playing in a wing is more frustrating than it's worth and multi-crew operations are a JOKE. multicrew ops dont work and the devs (if u do some searching) will not fix it even though it's a selling aspect of their game. run away from this game if your looking for a coop experience.

mining in coop also has a few bugs especially when you crack an asteroid since the graph showing the health of the asteroid is different for each crew member and it gets really annoying since you basically have to guess if its in the sweet spot or not.

The game is awesome in co-op btw, elite is by far the best space game out there.

ahah this kid is so wrong, if you play in open play, ull see your friends, there are no different versions of it... why people with 0 knowledge give very false information...?

It's...not really wrong at all, this game's multiplayer is pretty bad.
