Details on superpower rank progress
Was hoping someone could enlighten me on the intricacies of superpower rank progress. I know the gist, but what about details?
Does the amount of progress correlate more or the same or at all with mission reward? Does choosing a higher faction rep reward over pay give more rank progress as well? If progress is a flat rate, does it increase with your relations to the faction you get a mission from?
Thanks in advance for any info.

2 Years later I am also looking for the answer to this question... pretty frustrating that people do not understand the proper terminology of Reputation <> Rank :(

ya its a real shame, all this info in this thread and you still cant figure it out
Well I feel like the question has not been answered in this thread.
The question being:
"Does selecting a mission reward granting REP++ grant more Federation or Imperial rank progression, than selecting a mission reward granting REP+?"
I am sorry, maybe i missed it amongst all the misunderstanding between the words reputation and rank.

The problem of such necro resurrections is that the mechanic probably has been changed since then. Rep+++ wasn't influencing the superpower rank in the past, and now many players say that it does.

Seems like the "grinds" people do for this involve going back and forth between two systems over and over (though I have not looked into the details because I'd rather do some of my own exploration). That would push your faction reps to allied long before you maxed superpower rank, and they would just sit there that way. If that actually crippled superpower rank gains, you'd think that would not be the fastest way to rank up. In that case, seems like the recommendation would be to move to the next system after you maxed rep with the factions of the current system. That way, you're always avoiding the rank penalties from maxed faction rep. It suggests that either max faction rep doesn't hurt rank gains, or doesn't hurt it that much.

There are no rank penalties for maxing out your reputation with local factions, only benefits. You don't get more superpower rank progression for progressing your local faction's reputation, versus staying maxed out with it.

What seems to be the current trend is that you get more superpower rank progression for taking more Rep "pluses" for a local faction associated with that superpower as rewards.
