Beyond story arc - how to begin?

Hi everyone!

I have the Horizons expansion. Yet I am not sure how to begin the Beyond chapters. Am I right that it is supposed to be some kind of story-based adventure? All I find googling it is mentions that the expansion is coming out a year ago, how many chapters it has and how great it is - and that's it.

Did I miss something or did I misunderstand the purpose/contents of Beyond?

Not sure there is a story, think you just fly to bases and try make money... all i can get from it current

I don't remember there being a Story, but here's a link to the Wiki page about all the updates in Beyond. There may be something in there I've missed:

Well, inthis case, calling the expansions "chapters" is a bit misleading. I would enjoy a storyline very much. Will there be one in the future? I get that not everyone wants or needs a story, but if it there at least is an optional one, it would bring more players (like me) to the game.

What saddens me is that I bought the horizons expansion only because I expected a story.

There is an overarching story arc with thargoids, invention of new weapons, researching the guardians, but it's no "story" you can play through. It's in the beackground and you can take part or not.

There is no personal narrative beyond what you create for yourself. Its just you, your spaceship, and a galxy that doesn't care about you.

You won't ever be a main character in any grand story design (no hero or villian story archs for you beyond what you create for yourself). But there is ongoing story progression of the galaxy.

I would have enjoyed it if there were a sort of an optional storyline (like in the X* games), which you could follow or ignore at any point.

So I'm basically doomed to do the same twelve missions over and over again? I mean, I'll get more money, better ships, can land on planets, but not much more will happen. Or did I overlook something again?
