(Thankyou anyway though, Wolfey. )
However, a friend did send me a link, which I think may be useful to others who stumble across this thread.

You'll need a ship with a Cargo Bay (the bigger, the better), Limpets, a Collector Limpet Controller, Hatchbreaker Limpet Controller, and a Detailed Surface Scanner (the modern iteration, that launches probes at planets.) Some of these modules are available in that system. All of them should be available in the Colonia region. (Eddb.io is your friend here.)
Head towards Luchtaine system, near Colonia. One of the other engineers is in that place, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find if the purple map marker is up for you.
Honk the system with your normal Discovery Scanner, then head towards the A1 Gas Giant planet. Stop your ship in supercruise, then use the Surface Scanner's probes to scan the planet.
I found that it said the planet was scanned at 30% coverage, but didn't give me what I needed, so I covered the planet with probes, as well as (accidentally) hitting the rings of the planet until it was around 100% coverage.
Once you've thoroughly scanned the gas giant, look on your Navigation list for a Distress Call. It'll be slightly different from the usual signal-source distress calls, where someone wants you to refuel/repair/etc. This one will be persistent, like a station.
Arrive at the Distress call, check for pirates (I didn't have any, but apparently they can show up. Feel free to leave and re-enter the location if it looks dangerous.) Then scan the megaship in the area.
Once the megaship is scanned, you're looking for 'Escape Hatch 3' in the Contacts list - but it's also worth finding Cargo Hatch(es) 0-2. Scan the hatch with your Data Link Scanner, then select its subtarget (same method as you would when targeting a hostile ship's powerplant/thrusters), then fire the hatchbreaker limpet at that target.
While the hatchbreaker is doing its thing, you can scan other nearby targets. Although, because of how Collector Limpets don't handle the station architecture very well, I'd avoid flying around too much. Let the Collectors do their thing, then move on to the next part of the megaship.
In any case, the Escape Hatch should have a bunch of Occupied Escape Pods, and the Cargo Hatches should have one or two Occupied Escape Pods along with a bunch of sellable cargo.
When you've got what you need from that location, jump back to Supercruise, turn around and re-enter the Distress Call area. Repeat as necessary.
The cargo you can't sell (Damaged Escape Pods, etc) can be taken to the Search+Recovery section in the contacts, like with the black market etc.
I think there's one in Asuna - though I might have the name wrong there.
