Can't Find Engineer

Got contacted by an engineer who said something about learning to get the most out of my weapons. Cool, should be interesting. According to the map he was at Bardeen Platform in Ross 754. Pain in the♥♥♥♥♥to get to(FDev pls let me jump to a different star in the same system), but it should be worth it, right? Except... he's not here. I have no idea where he is, I can't see anything off the station that could be a location for him and he's not on the station.

Can anyone help me figure out how to find this guy?

That may be the normal position, but if the invitation I receive from the dude tells me to go somewhere different that isn't over 150 light years away, I'm inclined to believe that there's something to that.

Being given the location is only the first step in getting to USE that engineer. You have to 'prove' yourself, and then qualify for the actual invite that gets you into his / her base. Bases are **ALWAYS** on planet surfaces.
And Inara gives correct info on engineers. Always.
