There is a theory though that the Guardian AIs are still out there, and they might have ships that the devs might release one day.
There is also the question of why the Thargoids are entering human space. One theory is the Oresians are fleeing the Klaxions, but maybe they are both fleeing something else. We know guardian tech is good against Thargoids.
Its a trope that has been done before. In Heretics of Dune we learn the Honored Matres and others, while invading the old worlds are actually on the run from a more powerful force.
Haven't read about this. Do you remember where you read it?
"I realise that might sound disappointing, but in fact this find is extremely important. The log suggests these undiscovered sites might contain blueprints not only for Guardian engines, but for Guardian starships! Just think"
On accident, when the Guardian tech was first introduced, players could acquire "Guardian Vessel Blueprint Segment" which was erroniously added into the game.
FD was later confronted in a livestream about it "Do Guardian Vessel Blueprints have any use" to which I think Ed said "Everything in Elite has a purpose"
I have a feeling they'll delete them before they're used since they were acquired via a bug, they'll probably compensate players with a bunch of Guardian mats and patter data though.
