How do I deal with a black hole/neutron Star?
Terrified of falling into one unexpectedly tbh and want to know how to exit one

Stay FAR away from them.
Just don't fly within the outlined zone and you'll be fine. They are no more dangerous than main sequence stars (although slightly more terrifying). If you do stray too close, just turn around and charge FSD towards the escape vector.

If you want to avoid any jump-surprises make sure to check the star you are jumping to - it will tell you on the top right what star it is.

Orbit lines on -> stay outside blue and yellow rings.

In fairness, your ship projects a safety "exclusion zone" around all major bodies (I'm looking at you lady!) and will drop you out of supercruise when you hit that zone. Its a safety feature that prevents you ship getting tin-canned with you inside it. the exclusion zone is marked by the orbit lines that the others have mentioned.

Neutron stars are a little different, with an active scoop, you CAN enter the tail, closer to the outsides is best as too close to the middle is often fatal, once inside, your FSD will supercharge (you'll get a notification) then just throttle out.

Be prepared to jump 300% extra (so for example, 50ly = 200ly) I've done many 311ly jumps... Be warned though, that you'll want an AFMU. Your FSD suffers approximately 1% with each supercharge... and under 80% it will suffer malfunctions. Not further harmful, but your attempt to jump fails to begin.

If you wish to practice, the nearest neutron star is Jackson's Lighthouse... practice there and master it before going into the black.

Black Holes are all talk with no payoff. They pose no real threat to you. They're still scary as hell to fly into just out of SC and can be pretty disorienting, but they do no possess any other dangerous qualities.
Neutron Stars on the other hand, are incredibly dangerous. They're tiny in terms of actual volume diameter, which means your FSD will drop you in extremely close to the exclusion zone, and the Neutron Jets can pull you in and trap you in a death spiral.

ya just run into the thing and see what happens FOR SCIENCEEE
Black hole: fly into the exclusion zone, then reset your character because that's only fair.

Neutron star: fly into the ejection cone and drop out of supercruise. Enjoy the light show.
im not entirely sure but i dont think anything happens with a blackhole. your ship will begin to heat up. but if you fall into a neutron star you are in serious trouble.

neutron stars from my understanding require you to
1.remain calm, shut down your shields and any auxillary systems not entirely needed. throttle engines to zero,
2.begin the next jump. or quickly reroute to another system if your destination is obscured.
and then boost towards ur jump when u reach full charge.
3. the smaller ur ship is the more it gets bounced around my the magnetic and gravitational eddies.
this is from a post i read somewhere, a while ago. i cant confirm whether it works or not since the first time i fell into a neutron star was the last time i fell into a neutron. needless to say i did not survive
