Guardian items and engineering
I am currently trying to set up a AspX for exploring and I was wondering if it mathers wich I do first.

I would like to have a Guardian FSD and engineer it (if that is even possible) for more range. I tried to google it but couldent really find a propper awnser.

Is there a particular order to go about this?

Also I noticed some engineers offering the same modules to upgrade. Is there a diffrence or do they offer the same stuff?

Cheers gents.

Guardian FSD is a module that boosts your range, rather than a FSD itself. Fits into an optional module. Not engineerable, and can work in conjunction with engineered, human FSD.

Far as I know anyway, as I literally just unlocked it yesterday.

its a module that comes in several sizes (only needs to be unlocked once) thay increases your jump ramge by up to 10.5 LY)

in addition engineera have upgrades to thw FSD itself that allow for greater jump range.

the 2 can be stacked together so you can have an engineer modded fsd and a booster.

there are also materials you can craft tongice yourself a single boost...these do not stack on top of the booster.

neutron star boosts also do not stack on top of the fsd booster.

Much appreciated :))

Guardian modules can't be engineered in general. The Guardian Frameshift Drive Booster benefits from cone boosts and synthesis injection, these will increase the overall jump range.

it does? are you sure? I read that it does not and the boost is based on your fsd drive alone.

When you visit the Guardian sites you might want to collect as many blueprints as you can so you have no reason to do it again, at least for some time. I picked up 13 weapon blueprints and 6 module blueprints which allows me to build all G-Weapons and modules available if I want to. You also need to collect Guardian tech to be found lying around and from the sentinals. There are guardian sites where you can collect obalisk data without being attacked by the sentinals. This can take some time as you can imagine, I was at these places for about ten days all up. Fly safe Cmdr. o7

theres some new unlocks coming in space with (hopefully) guardian space drones to fight for guardian vessel blueprints.

Strictly speaking, you don't really need the Guardian FSD booster on an Asp. You'll get >50 ly with a grade 5 long range, mass manager modded FSD. The extra range from the booster is nice, but slots start to become scarce with it, particularly with AFMU(s) & SRV. And if you're out trying to scan as much stuff as possible, the extra range doesn't matter.

I'd start with the FSD engineering and go from there. D rated stuff for pretty much everything but the FSD. Long range modded DSS is nice to have. Downgrade to a 3D shield gen.

Engineers who work on the same modules offer the same mods for the most part, however I think there are a couple exceptions and they don't all reach the same grades. Keep that in mind when pinning blueprints. If you pin from someone who only offers grade 3, you're restricted to that even if you've unlocked a higher grade for the same module from a different engineer.

Yeah, you don’t NEED the Guardian FSD on an Asp, but the extra 10LY will make going anywhere in the whole bubble feel like nipping around the corner to the chemist. If you’re lightweight-engineering your ship in addition, then a word of advice: keep at least a 16t fuel tank, as although the Guardian FSD’s fuel consumption penalty was removed, the 65+ LYs will still eat a hole in your fuel and you don’t want to get stuck in an unscoopable system. Here’s my 67.89LY build for reference.[s.orbis.zone]

Well a Guardian FSD Booster and neutron star boost definitely stack at the moment or it would be impossible for me to jump 320-330ish ly in my Anaconda.

Thanks gents for the replies.

Can also confirm. Works with jumponium as well.
