Engineer question.
I'm visiting a engineer for the first time and I have no clue what I'm doing :)

It says I need to get to a Encoded Trader to get some stuff.., so can someone that knows more about this game than me please tell me the closest one to the engineer named Felicity Farseer.

Witch system and station/planet I need to go to?

I would recommend going to https://inara.cz and set up an account there. It has tools to track your progress in the game, but also has pages describing all the engineers, what's needed for materials, search tools where you can find the nearest system with material traders, etc.

It should work....
Try https://inara.cz/galaxy-nearest/ enter your current system at the top right "Search near star system" and then click "Material Trader". Check what type or trader you visit, there are 3 - raw, encoded and manufactured.
You might want to use the ED Market Connector to keep your inara account automatically updated. You can get it here: https://github.com/Marginal/E♥♥♥♥♥♥♥Connector/releases/tag/rel-312 - there are other tools that will do the same job in case you don't like this one.

You can also check what materials you need and get them yourself instead of trading other materials/data.
https://inara.cz/galaxy-engineer/1/ <-- increased FSD range is probably your first choice, you'll need Atypical Disrupted Wake Echoes for the first grade.

The material trader is under contacts. Once in there, click on the item you want, then the item you want to trade for it and select how many you want to trade. If you need to trade more than one type of material for the one you want, you will have to reselect the material you want after each trade.

Atypical Disrupted Wake Echoes are relatively easy to get. You just need to equip your ship with a wake scanner --> it is not an internal optional module, you'll use it on your utility slots.
Scan a few high wakes in front of any station and you quickly should have enough for your first modifications.

After some fiddling around I made it.., thanks alot.

I strongly suggest the use of 'E:D Market Connector'. Connect it to your Inara account and it will keep a running tally of all mats & scans you collect. This will help with the engineers. When you connect to Inara engineers page & click on a modification it will tell you how many of a particular material you are short or if you have enough to make the upgrade. VERY HANDY. Fly safe Cmdr. o7

Did grade 1.., why can't I upgrade to nr 2..?

Do I have to upgrade the fsd boot sequence and shielded fsd upgrade nr 1 also..?

You need to increase your reputation with the engineer to unlock each grade. If you have the mats, applying more grade one mods will increase your rep, but be aware that you might end up using mats that you need for grade two. You can also sell exploration data at the engineers base to increase your rep.

I want to increase the fsd range.., I have done nr1.., I have the things for nr2.., I have grade 3 access.., but I can't upgrade to nr2??

There is a window that says I have to have enough engineer reputation.., witch I have.., and that I have to "have completed all lower grade blueprints of the same type"..?

What do that mean?

What am I missing here?

Sounds like you need to run the grade 1 upgrade again, possibly 3 or 4 times...

Each level of the mod only goes up a certain amount when you apply. There's a ring that fills up as you level it up, once it's full you can do the next level.
