"Module cannot be fitted for legal reasons" ?
Hey trying to use some stored modules I'm getting this message "module cannot be fitted for legal reasons" and I have to "clean" them first, why does this happen, I have a few small bounties but nothing close to what it cost to clean these, is that why the message appears or is there another reason?

thats kind of the point. modules with bounties cant just be moved to a clean ship....that would be an exploit.

When you commit a crime, the whole ship is marked as "hot". It includes all the ship's modules. If you store one of them, they are still "hot", and have limitations on its use.

It's better to pay your bounties in the ship you did the crime, without storing its modules aside. Cleaning them might be more expensive than the risk of flying the "hot" ship to pay your crimes.
Make sure you clean your ship before stripping modules... I got shafted with a 20,000,000CR bill because I took off a 7A powerplant on accident, lol. Fully engineered so i couldn't exactly just lose it.

Ok I want to pay the bounties I was having trouble seeing where to go but I see the system name is in the ticket title, wish I could open the map to plot a course like you can for missions, I'll get these paid off right now officer.

You can pay your bounties at any system with an Interstellar Factors service. Open the Galaxy map, go to the map function (as opposed to the realistic function) and filter by services, select Interstellar Factors and then head to that system and station.

Conversely, there's tons of out-of-game resources that you can use to find this stuff, but I'll let someone else name them because I can't actually remember which does what right now.
