microsoft sidewinder preciscion pro joystick
Well, I've tried and tried to get thru the combat tutorials ans I just can't. I go after the this in the totorial, i get in a coule hits and them he just kills me time and time again. I hit him a couple times bvy surprise, and never get another hit on him,. meanwhile he just picks me apae over and over. I can't land a signle shot once i get the firsat hit in. I'm using tyhe joystick above, it;s old but works. is there an issue with it? No matter how i move he's never in my signts. plus the bamn lasers have zero tracking unlike the gatling in the onl;ine trainer. WTF?

the MCs are gimballed. the beams are fixed weapons. there are gimballed beams in the game. they draw more power and do less damage but are eaaier to hit targets with. the tutorial probably is showing you the differences between the two.

What it's showiung me is no matter how i move i can';t line up the target. I can';t turn, i just spin, I can't get the target in front of me, always way above of below me. I used to be able to play good shooters like descent freespace but this just sucks./"

You have more than 4 axis (nose up/down(pitch), nose left/right(yaw), forward/backward(throttle/speed) and roll)
You have 2 additional that require attention. Strafe up/down +left/right. You find them under settings --> flight thrust --> thrust up/down/left/right.
When pulling up you might want to use strafe up(thrust up) for a tighter turn or strafe(thrust) down for a drift and much faster turning your nose up.
You have also the option to fly backwards shooting at your target.
Also you might want to reduce speed if you can't get him in front of you.
Also you should know the combat tutorial is not exactly easy....more than half of all new players don't succeed right away.

Edit: Throttle:: Keep it in the blue zone for best turning - it will greatly improve your agility, helps keeping your weapons on target for much longer.

OK Ok, found out what I was doing wrong, the stick worls fine. Going balls to the wall full thyrottle is NOT haw to win at this, keep it in the blue zone on the throttle, did that and killed the bastard first time. Leaving thois up for other FNGs who mar remember the old games where all out was the only speed you went at.
