Frag cannons and experimental effects.
I wondered how experimental effects are applied with a frag cannon.

Is there a minimum number of pellets that must hit in order to apply the effect ?
If i shoot a frag cannon at long range and only a single pellet hits because of spread, will my target still suffer the Drag Munition proc ?

Well, I used Overcharged Inceds for bounting hunting on my Cobra. The raw DPS could overpower any SCB laden shield tanker, but this is just killing NPC trash, though I have a suspicion that, at least against big 3 ships, Frags might actually be pretty good in PVP at least against "Passenger Rush'd my Corvette Broh, now I am teh ultaimte noob slayer" griefer types.

I saw a video a month or so ago of someone with just frags deconstructing our favorite wizard griefer. Just saying.

Drag munitions on a frag are glorious if only a single pellet needs to hit for the proc to apply.
Yeah i'm looking at a turreted Frag with ammo capacity here.
inb4 "HERESY, BURN THE WITCH" yeah i know but i love trying alternate builds, not fond of the meta.
My vette can incinerate anything in seconds with its dual huge efficient beams, so all other hardpoints will be debuff/proc turrets: corrosive multi turrets, drag frag turrets and scramble pulse turrets.

I have a turreted frag on my conda. Fair warning, they only fire within a range of 500m.
Try fixed-anything on an iClipper... thanks to the wing spam, it misses every shot... unless you aim with just one of the wings...

And then I tried an iCLipper with Gimbal frags. Thanks to the speed, iC. pretty much catchs up to anything. And when it's at "melee range", gives the fatal embrace... of fragment cannon pellets...

Yes. Fit the Clipper you need Gimbal ob the Wings or you won't Hit a Thing. But gimbals aren't Bad at all. Time on target and Constant damage on a maneuverable ship like the Clipper work perfectly

You should try Both Long Range on beam laser ! efficient are awesome at short range but past 600m their dmg reduce quite rapidly.. past 1,5km they do almost half dmg..And with a modded Distributor you cant fire quite a long time.. i found long range much more efficient against smaller craft or even big ship at longer range.

i use 2 LR Hbeam + all cannon with high yield ! try it out

Really ? That's great. Short range turrets for kinetic weapons is exactly what i'm looking for. It reduces ammo consumption and prevents the AI to attempt impossible long-range shots.
I have dual size 1 turreted cannons on my 'vette, and engineered them with Short Range blaster just for this very purpose. They're here to proc Dispersal Field, not DPS.

Y eah, I would say for big ships, frag DPS isn't really an option because you can't really keep enemies in perfect range + Line of sight, but debuff is good.

I wouldn't go DPS frag cannons on anything bigger than like a FAS/CHIEF, and dual large frags on the Vulture (Pacifiers I hear especially) is insane. Like flying a sawed-off shotgun.
