Python - Res Build?

Hey all, got my Elite Explorer (in a AspX), now working on Elite Trader (in Imp Cutter), and plan is to kit out a Python and start grinding combat to get Elite Combat (for the honor of the EMPIRE!)

Figured best way to do that is in a Python in Hi Res area? I have a Vulture now which works pretty good for mission kills, and is fast as lighting, and a joy, but having a hard time against FDL's, Ananconda, Fed gunships etc.

So.. this is my planned on Python build..Right now I only have Felicity, Elvira, and Dweller unlocked. This is not superfunctional with tons of cargo, vehicle hangar etc, mission runner build, because just want to jump grind up combat..

I personally love my Vulture[s] but I generally use my FDL more often than not.

I love my corvette, the federal assault ship, the federal gunship, the fer de lance.

Yes, I do love the Vulture, but having a hard time against some of the bigger ships.

Are you using the lateral thrusters in your vulture? You can solo even elite anacondas on a vulture, its a damn good ship

Love my vulture, use double frag cannons, get in point blank range, and the anacondas and pythons have trouble even getting their guns on you at all. I'm at master in combat and I'm sure there is a better larger ship to fly, but this is so fun I haven't even bothered to try. I use my python as the Magic Bus for passenger missions - tried it in combat and immediately got back in the vulture. In fact in conflict zones my vulture does better in the high zones than the low zones because of the higher spawn rates of the larger slower ships. Big negative is I usually use up my ammo and have to go reload to often. Bummer when you get a anaconda down to 10% and run out of ammo - in which case I don't hesitate to ram 'em for the kill!

I use a paritally modded Corvette for all my combat. Although a nice alternative is a Federal Gunship. The Vulture is ok, although its the only ship I ever used that lost its canopy if anyone looked at me wrong. I spent more time on Emergency O2 with the Vulture :P

You probably want to unlock the shield engineer duo: didi vatermann and lei cheung. Python needs its shields.

The FAS is a pretty good heavy fighter. Some say it's like a beefed up Vulture. A lot more nimble than a Python. It's an ugly beast.

You need chief petty officer rank with the Fed's to unlock it though.

Volture is one of the most agile ships in the game.
So as long as you can stay behind the ship youre fine.
I also recommend getting dazzle shell or dispersal field experimentals to boost your survival.
Past that it's just skill.

Honestly if you cant overcharge the powerplant enough it's pretty bad as you cant really fit all you need.
Edit: Also a big downside to volture is that you can really put a feedback cascade railgun on it without demolishing your dps.

Start with 2 lrg pulse (fixed or gimballed) OR try 2 x turreted lrg beams. And work at your preferences/engieering accordingly. Should work a treat.

Though tbh, I prefer the Courier over the Vulture. Mainly becaue of the maneouvrebility (probably spelt wrong but I'm not looking it up lol), and speed. And the fact it has shields for days !

I'd wait for the Chieftain to grind combat rank, it's basically a bigger Vulture. Not as maneuverable, but can take a few more hits and pump out way more damage.

I actually got to Expert rank just off Skimmers and Skimmer related missions lol.
