Question on community goals
So I made it over to the dock where the current community goals are based and I go to turn in 500k in bounties I collected on the way over and there is no one to turn them into. The bounties don't have to be from the local system do they? I am sure I turned in some bounties from outside the system when there was a similar goal in the Pleiades

I don't think bounties gained from outside the system count, even if its a federation station, it only counts if its for the faction and on that station...i think.

All i know is that i do bounty hunting in a nearby Resource Site and return when i get either 1,000,000cr in bounties or when i nearly die....whichever comes first.

I think it would be best if you stuck with doing the nearby Resource sites and hand them into the station in question in the same way you hand them in to other stations.

Don't forget to 'sign up' for the CG first. As far as I'm aware bounties for EG Union are the ones that count

Yeah I signed up a day or two ago and killed pirates as they attacked me all the way over. The last time I did this, the communty goal (essentially the same one) was in the pleiades and I just turned in a stack of bounties there when I arrived and they counted towards the community goal. this time, its a not working so maybe its a bug or maybe they changed something but the description of the goal just say bounties, it doesn't say it has to be from a specific system.

Well, what faction was it part of?

I think since this station in question is a federation station in an Independent System, so i am not sure.

I would assume that any federation bounties would count, but its better to just stick to bounties within the community goal's system.

ok, pretty confusing. they should really be more specific

I think any bounties that you can hand in at the station in question will count....i think.

the ones in system are counting. they didn't recognise any from outside the system. I guess this is new because in the past they have. Par for the course, though...someone somewhere must have made some money so they nerfed it

So, what ship are you in? I am personally in a Diamondback Scout, saving up to A-Spec a Vulture, which i believe costs 20mil+ credits to do as i do this community bounty hunting goal.

I am bounty hunting in am A spec engineered python. I saw this as an opportunity to up my combat ranking a bit. Spend most of my time trading or exploring so this adds a little balance to my activities. One thing I will say for sure is that of all the activities in ED, combat is rewarded the worst and it is, at the same time, the most dangerous. If FD is so concerned about balance, then they should dramatically increase the bounties awarded. I don't even spend that much time in combat but I really feel for the players that do. You guys are really getting screwed by the current risk/reward ratio.

think differently
trading/passengers has got to be the most boring soul destroying jobs you can do in the game
everybody wants to shoot sh*t though...
who should really get paid the most?
thargoid hunters make more money than traders to so...

You have a point, but should you be paid the least out of everything you can do? You have repair costs and rebuy costs to figure in as well. One thing that could be improved is that right now NPC bounties are figured based on the ship but there is little or no consideration given to the skill of the pilot. I think the bounties should scale with NPC pilot rank. Killing an elite pilot in a conda is worth maybe 200k, that is way underpaid. I think the most you get for killing thargoids is like 2 million, but you have to make a major investment in your ship to be able to do that, it takes a lot fo time to kill and you are going to have a big repair bill after.

So, not the highest pay, but quite a bit more than now.
well i have an a rated unengineered python that i use for BH also, there is no "risk" involved in BH in that, worst case scenario i run (not very often at all)
BH is just my fun down time activity
thargoid hunting on the other hand..but you DO get paid for that (2 mill each)

Fair point on the Python, you are not likely to have a rebuy but repairs and resupply costs have to be figured in.

Regarding the thargoids, how much can you make thargoid hunting though? Maybe a couple million in mission creadits and a couple more million for the kill and how many can you do per hour? I am thinking maybe 2 missions?
you need the turd to answer those Qs properly, but it is "endgame" play, by then those ppl are not really that interested in money anyway
those that do it differently and dedicate themselves to this kind of play from beginning prolly enjoy that added rush of risk
i went and fought the 13th when they blockade the last CG, they creamed me to easy and cost me 3 pythons, but boy was it fun!!
