X45
For some reason, Elite no longer recognises my Saitek X45, and will not save my keybindings. Is this because its now a relatively old bit of kit, or maybe something to do with my changing to Win 10?

I'm sure I remember having a Saitek x45 back in the days of Windows 98..... If so, it wouldn't surprise me that Win 10 doesn't recognise it..

for win 10 check device manager if x45 is listed if not you need driver then dxdiag if its listed in input if not win10 have direct-input issues

It shows up in device manager, and it works with FSX no problem, but there are no W10 drivers for it as saitek no longer support the X45. However, in Elite, it does not show up as an X45, just 'generic joystick' but, as I said, it will not save my keymap changes so I wondered if it is an Elite problem and not a Win10 issue that is fixable as I can't afford a decent replacement for the X45 :-(

Launch the game without having steam running. If the joystick works, your steam overlay/steam game pad config is screwing with it.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
