Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS 4 Fix for Elite
A quick fix for those who are having issues with Elite Dangerous detecting the T-Flight HOTAS 4.
First make sure that you installed the joystick drivers for the PC first before you plug in the HOTAS, this will cause the PS light to turn green signifying that the controller is now in PC mode.

Second, in your steam/steamapps/common/Elite Dangerous/Products/elite-dangerous-64/controlschemes there is a file called ThrustMasterHOTAS4. You need to copy that file into your user/AppData/Local/FrontierDevelopments/Elite Dangerous/options/bindings folder. Start up the game and select the T.Flight HOTAS 4 profile.

Troubleshooting: If the file does not show up, try a restart. If that doesn't work then you need to go back into your bindings folder. There should be a log there. If it states something along the lines of Missing Devices: TFlightHOTASOne then you need to edit the ThrustmasterHOTAS4 binding file. Search through it by hitting ctrl-f and type TFlight. It should locate the offending line (for example Binding Device="TFlightHOTASONE) Once you find it, you need to change it to ThrustMasterHOTAS4. Ensure that there are no more TflightHOTASONE lines and save. Restart the game and you should now see the profile. Good Luck!!

This was it! After spending hours trying everything I could find with my Google-Fu, I finally ran into this. It took the troubleshooting steps, but FINALLY it worked. Thanks a million!

sedition42yz, I don't know who you are, I don't know where you live, but I will find you, and I will kiss you on the damn mouth you delightful human being.

Why Oh Why frontier did you miss that one "TFlightHOTASONE" in the binding file? Someone was napping that day. All I had to do was replace the one incorrect device name with the correct ThrustMasterHOTAS4 as you stated in your troubleshooting. Happily using my ThrustMasterHOTAS4 now.

FYI, if the Hotas4 is anything like the old HotasX, you don't actually need the drivers installed, it works fine with generic windows drivers... There's a bug with the steam overlay and steam controller configs that sometimes stops it from being detected without the drivers though.

Can't find the file FrontierDevelopments in my local appdata. What shows up is Frontier_Developments and inside there is no elite dangerous.

You gotta start the game first in order for the local appdata file to be created.
