the Imperial Cutter is also a very good Multipurpose but again to an extent, as it is a phenomenal trader and an impregnable Shield tank in combat though even fully engineered its jump range is roughly the same as an Unengineered Anaconda so it isnt amazing for long range things like Exploration and Tourist Passenger jobs.
It does haul the most to outposts.
I'd plop Cutter above Anaconda simply because it's got more cargo and is much harder to die in.
But I still think Python beats them both because Multipurpose implies flexibility, and having access to only 1/3 of the stations in the game automatically disqualifies large ships.
Wondering what the Krait is gonna be like. Supposedly Medium ship... But Faulcon already has a Medium multipurpose... So is Krait gonna be (Another) Combat ship, Explorer. etc.
the challenger looks to be the python grade contender to me
best allrounder is the python, it made my fortune and gave me everything i have, doing whatever i wanted
you can can use conda, cutter etc or any other ship later when rolling in it
Both are excellent ships for multi role purposes, either fighting, trading, exploring you really cannot go wrong with those 2 ships.
I tried the Corvette and i can honestly say the Anaconda is by far the better of the two for any of those roles. The Corvette just does not cut it, weaker on firepower compared to the Anaconda, has better speed and turn but if you can afford either one of these two ships then you should know how to fight by now anyways and the slightly better turning and speed does not count for anything when fighting in that case. Ending up selling my Corvette and going back to the Anaconda as it is far better than the Corvette.
Better turning and speed means that the Corvette can stay with its weapons on target while in the same case the Anaconda can't. The raw DPS is nothing, if you can't keep your weapons on your target. If you know how to fight, you should know it.
that grind tho....
With that said, i would not necessarily recommend going that route if your plan is to use the same ship for everything. Reason being, while those ships are multi-purpose, each purpose will require a different configuration.
A Python can do Combat, trading and exploration competently, but each activity will require changing the entire ship configuration. Which is tedious and frustrating, specially if you don't operate from a fixed hub but instead roam around.
The alternative would be to have several Pythons with different configurations, but that kinda defeats the purpose of using a multi-role, you might as well use more specialized ships better suited for each activity.
For example, i have a Python with a configuration that's, let's call it, a "Mission Board" setup, as it has everything i need for the sort of missions that show up in an average Mission Board: black boxes, small cargo deliveries, planetary scans, some combat missions.

However, for every dedicated activity i also have a dedicated ship: For combat, i have a chieftain (HazRES), a FDL (PvP) and a Cutter (High CZ). For trading, i have a Type-9. for Exploration , an Anaconda and an ASPX. I don't do passengers, but if i did i would probably set up a second Anaconda (and a second Python) for that.
My point being, multi-roles should be, in my opinion, used exclusively as placeholders, ships to fill the gaps in given activities until you can afford a dedicated ship.
