If you are facing shield heavy enemies you might make one or more of them have incendary rounds. And of course, corrosive is always an option since it saves you ammo, 30% ammo saving once you are hitting hull. So corrosive is a nice option if you are more interested in staying out longer without the need to rearm (but there again, if you stock up on synthesis materials then that is a less of a concern).
If you are wanting to stay out longer you can also consider high capacity. It slightly increases rate of fire, but there is a cost in mass and power draw, not something you want on a Vulture for example.
Overcharged is a decent option as well. You get 70% damage increase at G5, which makes it almost as good as double shot (which is an effective 100% increase).
Double shot is the best DPS, but bad if you want long endurance in the field, ultimately frag cannons already fire quite fast so I've never been truly convinced of the worth of the mod, some swear by it though.
High Capacity Magazine and Screening shell is very good as well.
Having at least one corrosive option (Make it a Frag cannon if you have to) Is ideal as well. My chieftain uses the forward most Frag as a Corrosive, and the rear is on Screening shell.
If you like frags, pledge to Space Trump and get the Pacifier. Narrow Spread plus much higher shot velocity makes it deadly as deadly gets within 1k range.
What does Effectiveness Increase Against Munitions mean?
It means if you fire them into incomming munitions it will destroy them.
For PvP check my channel its 90% frag fas PvP 1 v 1 fights.
My engineering is all G5 overcharged with additional damage on 2 large, dazzle and corrosive on the mediums.
FYI this guy is a piece of ♥♥♥♥ psycho that will blow you up in a RES for no reason. I got away from his ♥♥♥♥♥ ass the other day but just barely. This dude is a piece of trash but I will admit his frag cannon build is OP AF.
