Rewards for "Elite" Status

So its possible I am missing something here so correct me if I am wrong but the reward for gaining "elite " status seems to be pretty lackluster
1) You get a permit Shinrarta Dezhra.
2) Access to Jameson Memorial which has all ships and modules available with a 10% discount.
3) 2.5% discount for ships and modules in all systems.
4) Better pay for elite ranked missions but at least in trade you seem to be able to access those before you are eleite in trade so I am not sure there is actually a benefit there?

While having everything in one place is very convenient and the 10% discount is nice, you can get a 15% discount on everything from stations controled or exploited by Li Yong-Rui and a 20% discount on weapon modules in controeld or exploited systems of Zack Hudson. So, I am not really seeing a huge bonus there. Granted the 2.5% discount everywhere is a nice perk and definately helps, it just seems like for the work it takes to get to elite, you should get a bit more. At least make the discount equal to what you get from Rui.

If your open to hunting down ships/modules for the better price, then Elite rank on at least 1 thing doesn't mean much to you. The only real gain is the that Lori Jameson (Engineer) is in the Shinrarta Dezhra system.

However, everything in one single location at a discount price is pretty darn nice, despite the lesser discount.

1 & 2 are the same thing, but I think you have underestimated the value of having any and every module available in the one location. By the time you get elite status, you're probably pretty well off credit-wise and the discounts don't really mean all too much.

I just love being able to take a trip to a single station fitting it out exactly how I want it within a few minutes and go straight into engineering it.

To be fair its not really that difficult to get Elite in Trade and Exploration since running passengers for around a day can get Trade Elite from penniless and a day on the road to riches hits Exploration Elite, Combat is the only one that requires any actual time invested.

you can't make anywhere near that money on passengers anymore, the 200+ million and hour days are gone, and you can't scan 500 planets in a day either.

Think he means in literally a day of gameplay, so 24hours. Considering that most people play less than 6 hours per day...

You need to make over a billion in trade and I think thats going to take more than 24 hours now...until the next exploit at least.

Meant for Exploration. I think you only need like 300,000,000 of profit to Elite that, though there are some additional shortcuts like Elite ranked Black-box missions and Ram Tah's stuff.

it says 30000000 in wiki but it is much higher than that i can tell you

ahh, maybe...I haven't done enough exploring yet to really know.

I recently attained Elite status in exploration for less then 300mil. I did get a lot of first scans though, not sure if that makes a difference.

Yeah, Ram Tah's first mission pays out only 100,000,000 and it will get you from Pioneer 0% to Elite. Money may be a factor, but it's clearly not the only one.
