Transporting worth it?
I just started and I'm digging the trading side of things and thinking about getting into transporting passengers. Is it worth it getting a liner or can I pull this off with a multi-roll ship?

Yes, they are the best credit earner meaning the highest credit earning missions in the game. I made my first big money in a Type 7 transporting passengers, but you can use any ship, just place passenger cabins in them. I made tons of credits in a Python, Orca, Beluga, but the best moneyhas been made in my current passnger ship, an Anaconda.

Well to earn the big bucks you need a ship that can do long jumps.

my ship is stock jump range 17ly bigger jump range just means more jumps.

If you like to role play, getting a Beluga can be fun. It's the biggest pilotable ship in the game and the feeling like you're the captain on a space cruise is nice. Using it for station evacs also adds a bit more excitement. If you're a boring ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you can use a python or anaconda and just swap out mods. The only real advantage to using passenger ships is that they can equip luxury cabins.

And they all have very nice cockpit views. Which is kind of important if you want to enjoy the travels and the views, too. :)

I would like to know how you are making 80 mil and hour with first class passagers. I get they pay more but from what I have seen you are either transporting criminals or demanding passagers. The criminals are risky but you can get into stations with a scan but the demanding ones are a big question. How do you handle them without taking time consuming side trips? Or are you doing something different?

i am not sure how new you are to the game so i will explain as simple as i can.....

there is a thing called stacking missions.
with a type 7 it has a layout of
3 x 6 class this is first class passengers = 36 passengers in total
3 x 5 class this is first class passengers = 18 passengers in total
2 x 3 class one of these is shields and the other first class passenger
1 x 2 class this is advance scanner

the jobs i choose are long range like hutton orbital no crimnals.

got my rep up allied and most jobs i get
40 bussness passengers 14mil to 17mil
ceo's 3mil each

stack these together with my 15min trips one way
i make anywhere between 20 to 25mil one way.
return how ever is maybe 3 mil but is only 3 min trip

so add this together to 1 hour and that is how i am making the credits i am.....

there is another sector i am about to test out that is haiden seafross to hip 112829 long trip high credits.

Passenger missions is where I started to make real money, where as previously I'd only made it through community goals or simple hi-rez bounty hunting.

I dabbled with different ships... but now I have a Beluga Liner, filled with mainly economy seats. I have a few business and first class cabins in there as well for mission variety. I would highly recommend the Dolphin to get started in this personally, but you can get the same results from a T7 but you will not feel as swish in what can be described as a flying wardrobe.

I always go for the bulk passenger missions, tourists, businessmen etc - Shove them all into the same cabin, try and make a square or triangular routing (I only have 13ly jump but its all you need) and pick up any delivery missions on the way as well.

The key thing is to always return to a 'base' - A good location you mainly work from, get all your rep high, then you'll get the good missions.

You can ignore their demands most of the times, without risking it. Don't decline the request, just ignore it and keep going. When you get into the destination station, they will complain and their happiness will decrease, but not too much to fail the mission. Unless they already were unhappy with you doing something else bad (like getting reckless flying fines, while transporting law-abiding passengers).

i find my incomming messages just dont work when passengers demand things.....
then again my incoming message just dont work when i transport passengers period lol

if i get interdicted i deal with it and keep going.

dealing with incomming messages is like talking on the phone when driving a car
i just dont do it
the messages are just crazy frequent all the time no matter what you do, i can't "hear" them either
i can't believe your doing those runs in a sheildless 7 mal :tgrin:
