Meh, prefer the smaller ships. In the bigger ships its mainly just a case of point and shoot, its rare to feel any sense of danger.
In the small ships against tougher opponents its harder and often find myself sweating badly when my shields are going down and i'm having to take evasive manouvers to try and survive while finding a good angle of attack to get on the target.
SC still developing and still unsure about its combat system and is what I'm about the log into now. PTU here I come.
Seriously though, when you have a ship like an Anaconda/Cutter/Corvette, they have the power to instamelt smaller ships. Very much "Point & shoot" as someone else said.
Something a little smaller can make the combat a little more... lets say intense.
Nothing like having a few larger ships on you when you're in a Vulture or Chieftain. Definitelly going to work up a sweat fighting in one of those.
At the same time, there is a larger feel of accomplishment when you can do that though.
If your in a big ship just go into a RES or CZ and shoot a few bad guys. When you have multiple ships on you you'll be sweating plenty.
