How do I know which planet ring I'm in?
I see 1A and 1B, one is Metallic, and the other is Metal Rich.

If there is a gap between the two then it's easy - but this is not always the case.

I'm trying to mine for Painite for Selene... though I'd be willing to buy 10.

The dark ring (usually the inside ring, is the Metallic or Metal Rich ring tbh. IF there's two rings, it'll be separated by their color. 1A denotes First Ring, which is closest to the planet. 1B is the secondary First Ring, which is the outer ring of the Inner Ring. The OUTER Ring, is NORMALLY an Ice Ring, which is blue/white.

A is innermost B next and do on.

They always go from inner to outer ring (A > B > C...)
In case you're not sure just visit the system map, select the planet go to second tab and compare the inner/outer radius of the rings to see which is smaller
let us now if you have trouble finding painite and i'll tell you where to get it, it is a real pain (:tgrin:) carrying the stuff all over the galaxy

The "theory" is that the metallic ring is always the inner because they are generally heavier elements. Same reason why you have metal rich closer to the sun. ED more or less adheres to that from what I had observed.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
