1) Smash and grab: Sign up to get the special modules. About half of them can be worth using, at least situationally. The other half are pants. Then when you have what you want, quit the power.
2) Risk in Space: Some people sign up to do the actual powerplay thing. No idea why, but some people seem to enjoy Risk in space.
The PP frag cannon is meh...
The PP thermal beam is pathetic (and pointless since the engineers were introduced).
Imperial Hammers are good if you like railguns.
Not tried the rest, but I'll be going for the advanced plasmas sooner or later...
Pacifier cannon is pretty sweet.
Containment missile is popular with PvPers
Mining Lance is a bit meh, but a miner pointed out how its useful for tickling rocks from a distance before sending out a prospector and when you find a good rock use regular mining lasers for the actual mining.
LOL...yeah, thats what I have read.
And yes you have access to the unlocked modules only as long as you remain pledged to the power. Rubbish, as i said.
I don't agree. Powerplay is actually the only activity in this game worth doing. Everythinng else is grind for money and ranks...
