unfortunately, after season 2 BSG fell into the same trap.
Without spoiling it too much.... it goes from realistic space drama to late-stage Stargate/any new Star Trek series where things seem to work not for any logical reason but simply because they script says they work and characters behave in ways that serve the story not because of any kind of character.
I've read the first 4 novels, and looking forward to series 3...
Season 2 was aired Feb - Apr 2017 in the US. Don't know why it's taken so long to get over to Europe.
Oh, I thought it was a Netflix made show so shown simultaniously everywhere. Netflix like to brand things as netflix exclusive when they only just bought the series off someone else.
The novels are great and some of the best writing/storytelling is found in the novellas that fill in the background to the main storyline. I really like the casting and production values on the show but the second season really began to diverge from the plot in the books. I am wondering where they are going to take the story...?
On a tangent, after reading about 50 or so Star Wars books, especially on the Yuuzhan Vong, I was shocked to see how Disney imagined Han Solo's death - so I guess divergence from the plot is nothing to be wondered about.
Nope, it was produced for SyFy IIRC
